FRIK, Armenian poet, was born in 1230s. The main themes of his poems are national and social problems. His poems are singled out by social criticism.. The poems “Against Fate”, “About Arghun Khan and Buqa”, “About Frik's book” (“Complaint”), “About Daleh and Bourj” are the literary reflections of Mongolian reign. Frik considered “falak” (fate) to be not fair that makes ignorant, bad, stupid people rich and wise people unhappy. In his poem “Complaint” he disputes with God and notes that social deep contradictions between classes and living conditions are according to his will. However, at the end Frik accepts God’s will. Those 4 poems mentioned above makes Frik not only medieval but also one of the outstanding writers of the world literature. See more...
