Institute for Armenian studies of YSU represents its works and new initiatives

Institute for Armenian studies of YSU publishes and digitizes research studies on Armenology and provides the representation of the mentioned materials on the Internet.
Greeting the presents, the acting rector, director of IAS Aram Simonyan once more emphasized the importance of the works and achievements in the sphere of Armenology.  
  "Institute for Armenian studies of YSU, which focuses its attention on the steps of the development of armenology and on the establishment of the statehood, is ready to cooperate with individual armenologists, as well as with armenological research centers and institutes",- mentioned Aram Simonyan.
A video was shown, in which the history of the development of armenology in YSU, the structure of the Institute and main directions of the work were represented. Armenological published works were Presentation of IAS (14.06.2011)presented, which were given to the presents at the end of the event. "Studying armenology has become an expression of courage...  From this point of view it is gratifying that YSU is able to make researches on scientific educational level parallel with educational work. Any success achieved in the sphere of armenology is our success, as it is indeed a "front line"",-mentioned in his speech director of the Institute of history of NAS RA Ashot Melkonyan hoping that the cooperation will continue.
The heads of several departments of the Institute presented their work, especially the head of the Laboratory of Archeological Researches Hayk Avetisyan, head of the Laboratory of Historical Geography and Cartography Babken Harutyunyan, leading researcher of the Department of Genocide Studies Varuzhan Poghosyan, the head of the Department of Virtual Armenology and Information Mher Hovhannisyan. www.armin.am, where there are already 55 books, 25 articles, 104 maps, as well as collections of archival documents, various historical photographs. New contemporary scanners will give a rise to the digitization process providing high quality and operativeness. The edition of some armenological works is still in progress.
